Position Summary

Astreya is recruiting a Sr. DevOps Engineer that will be responsible for - DevOps, CI/CD release, tool integration, tool implementation monitoring, dashboarding, cloud, compute models, web tier, data tier, network, configuration management and deployment automation. As a Sr. DevOps engineer, you will design, build, and use CI/CD infrastructure while working closely with the development, product and performance teams and other stakeholders in our fast-paced, innovative environment.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Work with senior leaders to deliver on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of the company's overall strategic direction
• Infrastructure as code practices
• Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery.
• Sustaining Operations - Scrum assignments, repeatable tasks, incident response & root cause analysis, code deployment, asset tracking, capacity management, knowledge base, monitoring & alerting
• Identifies ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality of data management.
• Communicates technical concepts to non-technical audiences both in written and verbal form.
• Environment creation
• Log Aggregation
• AWS Governance
• Assist Cloud Architects to provide operations and migration services that enable VA to tailor the availability
• Delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements
• Configuration Management
• Monitoring and notifications
• Performance improvements
• Performs peer reviews for other data engineer’s work.
• Design and develop automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration processes
• The Sr. DevOps engineer will lead a small DevOps team to build and run high quality and non-impactful deployments with primary focus on the below areas;
• System integrations
• Operationalization including documentation

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required:

• Understanding of web, http, networking, security, scaling, and cloud native architecture
• 8+ years overall industry experience in engineering
• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions using AWS
• Command of Automation Technologies and Tools - AWS DevOps engineer should have ability to automate DevOps hugely depends on your knowledge of DevOps tools, coding and scripting skills
• Strong experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
• A solid core foundation in infrastructure and systems engineering including Unix/Linux compute, networking, storage, and monitoring stacks
• Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, or RedShift
• Public cloud service knowledge like AWS IAM, EC2, EKS, ELB, ALB, CloudFront, Autoscaling, Networking, or AKS
• Able to work in a fast-paced agile development environment.
• Advanced SQL skills required. Solid understanding of relational databases and business data; ability to write complex SQL queries against a variety of data sources.
• Ability to write code in Go, Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, and two years of experience in software/systems or related.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with configuration management tools such as: Puppet, Chef, or PowerShell DSC
• AWS certified developer or AWS certified SysOps administrator
• Security Skills - AWS DevOps Engineer should have at least the basic software security skills
• Strong understanding of database storage concepts (data lake, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph, data warehousing).
• Firm grasp on version control concepts and build systems
• Hands-on experience for provisioning cloud infrastructure using APIs (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM etc.)
