Associate Chief Technologist Jobs

The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is seeking to hire an experienced Assocaite Chief Technologist. As an Associate Chief Technologist, you will be an essential allied health professional dedicated to the safe and effective use of radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes across all age groups. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including patient interviews, care, and instruction, as well as the preparation, calibration, and administration of radiopharmaceutical compounds. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to handle, prepare, and administer adjunctive medications under direct MD supervision, while executing patient imaging and therapeutic procedures with the aid of computer processing and image enhancement. Laboratory testing will also be part of your repertoire. Radiation safety is paramount in this role, and you will apply your expertise in radiation physics and safety regulations to minimize radiation exposure for the general public, patients, fellow workers, and yourself, adhering to the principle of "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA). Personal and professional growth is highly encouraged, and you will have the chance to participate in medical, technical, and research activities to continuously enhance the quality of patient care. As the Associate Chief Technologist, you will work closely with the Chief Technologist, providing direct supervision to Nuclear Medicine Technologists in your assigned location/s. By ensuring adherence to department policies and achieving performance goals, you will play a vital role in maintaining excellence within our team. Additionally, your expertise will be instrumental in coaching technologists in department procedures, image quality, patient positioning, administering radiopharmaceuticals, and utilizing equipment appropriately. Target annual rate: $105,200-$250,600

Required: * Valid Certifications as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with either the Nuclear Medicine Technology Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Valid licensure in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch, State of California. * Working knowledge of the above listed equipment. * Reading skills to understand patient records, forms, technical procedure and policy manuals, and other related documents written in standard English. * Speaking skill to collect and clearly convey information to people of various educational cultural, and economic backgrounds using tact, diplomacy, correct grammar and vocabulary. * Interpersonal skills to work as part of a medical team by establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with physicians, medical staff, colleagues, co-workers, patients, and the public. * Ability to set priorities to multiple tasks, shifting demands, deadlines, and a heavy workload. * Writing skills to maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and logs. * Ability to work with self-initiative and minimum supervision in the performance of nuclear medicine procedures. * Interpersonal skills to relate to patients of all age groups or their families with sensitivity and compassion.
