As the CFO, you will report directly to the COO. Your work will focus on the core of our operations, which includes researching, developing, and executing our financial vision and strategy. As the leader of our finance team, you will manage a talented, accomplished, and experienced group of colleagues. This role is a means to make a difference: as a senior executive, you will marshal and enhance our business.
Our current CFO has been with the firm almost eight years and we are recruiting for this role because he is retiring.
Responsibilities

• Implement the finance-related aspects of major initiatives for the funds and management companies, including working with existing investment products, launching new investment products, working with existing entity and fund structures, creating new entity and fund structures, trading in multiple geographies, trading in multiple asset classes, understanding and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and investigating new lines of business
• Manage an exceptional and growing team, which includes MBAs from top schools and CPAs
• Represent the firm in interactions and negotiations with external parties, such as clients, regulators, service providers, vendors, and other partners
• Research, develop, and execute a robust financial strategy, including existing operations, new operations, and overarching areas (e.g., optimizing for tax and cost)
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, audit, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, tax, and treasury
• Partner with high caliber teams in business development, business strategy, compliance, human resources, legal, operations, recruiting, research, software development, systems, trading, and other areas to lead firm-wide projects

Requirements

• Experience working directly with regulators
• Successful track record of managing and growing teams
• Thorough understanding of US GAAP and financial accounting and its application to partnerships and/or investment management
• At least five years in senior finance roles at finance companies
• Experience working directly with clients
• First-hand experience and leadership in the following functions: accounting, audit, budgeting, financial planning, tax, and treasury
• Bachelor’s degree (MBA and/or CPA is a plus)
