Food Technologist Jobs

Our client, a food manufacturer, is seeking a Food Technologist to join its team. As a Food Technologist, you will be part of the Quality Assurance Department supporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality Regulations, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Pomona, CA

Pay Rate: Pay Rate: $30 - $40

What’s the Job?

• Compliance with all employee job safety requirements and regulations as required by company policies, including timely communication to appropriate facility management of any non-conformity issues or violations found.
• Ensuring compliance with all Company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA regulations.
• Supporting and participating in Third Party Audits as needed.
• Supporting completion and filing of documentation, including but not limited to ingredient and finished product specifications, GMO, Allergen, Organic and Kosher documentation.
• Contacting suppliers to maintain ingredient files updated with all compliance documents.
• Working with the Sales, Accounting, and Purchasing Teams to coordinate customer requirements and needs.
• Reviewing and proofreading existing labels for conformity to standards and specify appropriate changes when necessary.
• Maintaining tracking of supplier compliance documentation and other regulatory documents.
• Maintaining the Supplier Approval Program
• Supporting Quality Assurance and Sales projects as needed.
• Assisting in investigations, and responding to customer complaints
• Compliance to GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality regulations as required by the company, customers and/or government legislations, including timely communication to appropriate facility management of any non-conformity issues or violations found.
• Developing, Revising, and updating labels as necessary for in-house printing
• Developing ingredient and finished product specifications, including ingredient statements and nutritional information.

What’s Needed?

• Someone who is technically sound: MS Applications (strong EXCEL), Genesis
• Someone with 4+ years’ experience as QA Regulatory Specialist, Food Technologist, or Food Scientist within the Food Manufacturing environment
• Someone who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science
• Someone who has strong knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality Regulations
• Someone who can communicate effectively in written/oral language.
