Title: Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Communications, Social Media, & Brand Partnerships

Overview
As the Assistant Vice President of Communications, Social Media, and Brand Partnerships, you will be responsible for leading and managing the organization's communication strategies across multiple channels. You will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive communication plans that enhance brand reputation, engage target audiences, and drive business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of communication strategies, social media platforms, public relations, brand partnerships, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do
  • Communications Strategy and Planning:
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication, social media, PR, and brand partnerships initiatives using key metrics and analytics tools.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize communication strategies.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the organization during crisis situations, providing clear and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the communication budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost optimization.
  • Partner with paid media team to ideate around 360 launch strategies and influencer support (such as content creation optimized for paid media).
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and stylists to secure positive media coverage, editorial, brand features, and celebrity dressing opportunities.
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to support communication initiatives.
  • Monitor social media trends and analyze metrics to optimize performance.
  • Ensure content is aligned with brand messaging, tone, and visual identity guidelines.
  • In partnership with Creative, collaborate with internal subject matter experts to create compelling and engaging content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engage audiences, and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement PR strategies to manage the organization's reputation, build relationships with key stakeholders, and enhance brand awareness.
  • Oversee ambassador, influencer, and creator relations and selection, leading negotiation and contracting of talent in partnership with Creative
  • Ideate, evaluate, and execute opportunities for partnerships to grow brand awareness and reach.
  • Ensure consistent and cohesive messaging across all communication touchpoints.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, sales, HR, and senior leadership, to align communication strategies with broader organizational goals.
  • Public Relations (PR):
  • Effectively communicate communication plans, objectives, and results to key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Crisis Communication:
  • Provide regular budget reports, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making and budget planning processes.
  • Brand Partnerships / Talent Strategy:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate crisis response and develop key messages.
  • Manage and oversee the organization's social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and others.
  • Measurement and Analysis:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Social Media Marketing and Content:
  • Draft and distribute press releases, manage media inquiries, and coordinate media events and interviews.
  • Ideate around impactful influencer programming, collaborations and partnerships to support strategic launches.
  • Identify target audiences, key messages, and optimal communication channels to maximize reach and impact.
  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and implement crisis communication strategies and protocols to effectively manage and respond to potential reputation risks and issues.
Key Requirements
  • Experience with Found led organizations preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of communication strategies, social media platforms, brand partnerships, and public relations best practices.
  • Crisis communication experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute comprehensive communication plans.
  • Strong media relations skills with experience in securing positive media coverage and managing media inquiries.
  • Proven experience in social media marketing, including content creation, community management, and analytics.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects seamlessly
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in communications, social media marketing, and public relations, preferably in a leadership role.

Estimate Salary Range: $215,000-250,000
Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
