Salary Range: $61,500 - $68,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director will support marketing and communications for the Undergraduate Admissions Office, including the strategic planning and daily management of electronic and print communication. The officer will be responsible for evaluating applications to Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, make critical judgments, and present arguments recommending admissions decisions to the Admissions Committee.
Responsibilities
The officer will serve on the Communications Team and help plan and carry out the vision for an integrated communications strategy, including conceiving, writing and editing and producing original content for electronic and print platforms for Admissions.
The officer will support brand management and marketing initiatives through various vendor partnerships, implementing a cohesive content strategy across multiple third-party college planning platforms.
The officer will support the coordination, maintenance, and implementation of the admissions website and admitted student portal, as well as social media initiatives, including the admissions YouTube account and Instagram page.
The officer will work in consultation with the Director in regards to data and technology which will include tasks to advance, develop, assess, and optimize electronic recruitment strategies.
The officer will read applications to Columbia College and Columbia Engineering, making critical judgments and recommendations to the Committee on Admissions on the candidates they have evaluated.
Assume other responsibilities as designated by a member of the office's senior staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years related experience required.
Successful candidate should possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize and lead projects to completion and to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining flexibility, judgement, attention to detail, and commitment to collaboration and high standards of service.
A writing sample or creative portfolio will be requested during the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education strongly preferred.
Fluency with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite; web tools such as Drupal, HTML, and Google Analytics; social media practices; and/or video production are considered a plus.
