JOB DESCRIPTION


The Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Strategy & Business Development team functions as an internal consulting group to develop and advise on the most important strategic initiatives for AWM and the Firm’s executive leadership. These initiatives include growth strategies, new business launches and market entries, strategic investments and corporate mergers and acquisitions, cross-line of business initiatives, and strategic business deep dives. This role will focus on our Asset Management (AM) business, a top five asset manager by assets under management, with investment capabilities across all asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Liquidity, Alternatives) and distribution teams covering all client segments, globally (Institutions, Corporates, Intermediaries).

Job responsibilities

  • Lead teams of 1-3 junior strategists to develop solutions in partnership with business leaders
  • Create and deliver CEO-level executive communications
  • Provide coaching and development to junior team members both formally and informally
  • Develop and advise on strategic priorities for AM and AWM, serving as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders
  • Oversee analysis (e.g., financial modeling, valuation analysis) to provide insights, identify issues and arrive at recommendations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions
  • 5+ years of experience with a top-tier management consulting firm or an internal consulting / corporate strategy team, or equivalent experience in the asset management industry
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills – ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to develop subject matter expertise in new subjects quickly
  • A high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Open, collaborative, team-oriented operating style
