Job Description
Summary This position is part of the WAPA-SNR-Sierra Nevada Region. As an Administrative Officer, you will serve as the principal administrative advisor to the Regional Manager, This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the Folsom, CA duty location. Responsibilities As an Administrative Officer, you will: Provide leadership and direction to regional offices to support the following mission and business functions and programs within Mission Support: Procurement, Property and Facilities Management, Fleet and Inventory Management, Environmental Programs, Safety and Occupational Health, Records Management, Training and, Emergency Management programs. Work under the general direction of the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager, who makes assignments of a broad and general nature covering short and long range program plans, objectives and policies. Serve as the Regional Manager's principal adviser and accountable party for administrative management at all levels of the region. Responsible as the Reasonable Accommodation (RA) case manager and as the settlement official responsible for using a full range of remedies in settling RA, EEO, Procurement and related complaints on behalf of the Secretary of the Department of Energy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. This employer participates in the e-Verify program. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period. The employee is expected to be in an on-call status on a rotational basis. While in an on-call status, the employee is required to carry an electronic paging device and will remain within one-half hour travel time of their primary place of residence and will sustain themselves in an able- to respond and perform work condition. This position is designated Essential in the event of the Continuity of Operations (COOP) or Emergency Response situations. This position requires the ability to operate a government vehicle. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification and have a valid state driver's license. Defensive Driver's Training will be completed upon employment. Upon reporting, and annually thereafter, the selectee may be required to file one or more financial statements and/or a procurement integrity certification. These certifications may be subject to public disclosure. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as leading administrative program functions through serving as: Program manager for multiple administrative programs or leading multiple organization-wide projects in 4 of the 6 following administrative subject areas: Procurement Environmental Safety Facilities Emergency management Personnel management "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education There are no specific education requirements or substitution of education for experience for this position.
