Accounting/Payroll Clerk Jobs

Webster City Community School District has an opening for an Accounting/Payroll Clerk.

Qualifications:

• Certification, experience, other qualifications as determined by the Superintendent
• Physical Examination as required by the District
• Accounting and bookkeeping skills
• High School Diploma
• Calculator, typing, and computer skills

Reports to: School Business Official/Board Secretary

Performance and Responsibilities:

• Sets up work detail and position assignments in Veritime
• Answers the telephone with proper etiquette
• Reconciles employee absences in AESOP
• Reconciles Webster City CSD bank accounts as assigned
• Distributes scholarship money
• Assists in performing the usual office routine and practices associated with the operation of the business office.
• Reconciles Webster City CSD P-Card program and other District charge accounts
• Responsible for Webster City CSD support staff payroll
• Builds Webster City CSD vendor files into accounting software
• Greets the public in a friendly and courteous manner
• Enters receipts in accounting software for Webster City CSD activity, lunch, and schoolhouse funds
• Enters all Webster City CSD payables into accounting software
• Issues W2s and 1099s for corresponding payroll and A/P groups
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the School Business Official and Superintendent
• Helps Webster City CSD support staff with new hire paperwork
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
• Manages daycare billing for Mighty Trojan Daycare
• Enters Webster City CSD support staff contracts
• Counts and receipts Webster City CSD activity fund and daycare fund money
• Prepares bills for each month’s Webster City CSD regular Board meeting
• Opens mail, matches invoices with purchase orders, and does filing for Webster City CSD
• Responsible for monthly federal and state payroll withholding reports

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be determined by the Superintendent and the Board of Education.

EVALUATIONS: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the School Business Official.
