Accounting Clerk Sr Jobs

The incumbent is primarily responsible for compiling and maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records. All job responsibilities as such relate to the specific accounting tasks are performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Education/Training: High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. Two (2) year Vocational Associate Degree in Accounting or other comparable work experience is preferred.Related Experience: Two to four years of accounting administration experience is preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The incumbent must be able to deal with detailed information in an accurate and efficient manner. The incumbent must also be very well organized and have the ability to effectively prioritize work assignments and complete them on time. The position requires the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software applications to include Excel, Mail, Access, Word, Outlook and the ability to use Internet/Intranet applications.
• $20/HOUR, BENEFITS on DAY 1!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform entry and posting of freight payables and miscellaneous expense payables.Monitor compliance with state sales and use tax laws. Review customer exemption certificates. Review new customer master setup. Assist with sales tax audit. Coordinate statewide tax mailings.Assist in working accounts payable check runs.Administer and process freight claims - maintaining file and generating month end report and journal entry.Maintain debit/credit memo file, keeping contents current, entering credits on a timely basis, preparing debits and returns and following up with vendors to assure we received our credit.Provide support as back‑up for accounts payable clerk.Reconcile any computer and/or manual generated items that affect ledger accounts (sales invoices, cash deposits, adjustments to A/R, A/P ‑ Open and Disbursed.).Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training and development programs for the assigned position.Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks within the scope of the essential duties and responsibilities of the assigned position as requested from time to time by management representatives.
