The Corporate Accounting team manages all operational and transactional accounting for the US. The Accountant will be part of a six-member team and report to their manager. The team is responsible for operationalizing US-based accounting transactions. Responsibilities also include working closely with all businesses and international accounting colleagues at Akamai.

In this position, you will build business relationships and work with stakeholders globally. The Accountant role will be based in the US supporting the Corporate Accounting team. This role will focus on the monthly and quarterly reporting of Akamai results. Included will be ad hoc projects.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with preparing Balance Sheet & P&L flux analysis for monthly CFO close meetings
• Preparing balance sheet accounts reconciliations to ensure account balances are accurate and complete
• Reviewing OPEX & COGS activities and preparing monthly cost variance analysis
• Following guidance of US GAAP, company policies and internal controls to ensure compliance
• Reviewing accounting activities and preparing month-end journal entries to accurately reflect business operations

• Possess analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to solve problems when identified
• Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Have ability to prioritize workloads with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate excellent understanding of Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc.)
• Have 2 years of relevant general ledger/audit experience experience and a Bachelor's degree
• Be a good team player and collaborate with people from across the business
• Have an established US GAAP knowledge

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $57,840 - $86,442/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
