The Sales Tax Accountant will assist with the company’s property, sales and use tax compliance obligations in the many state and local taxing jurisdictions. Research is often required to determine the taxability and rate to be applied to the purchases and sales activity. Additionally, the Sales Tax Accountant will work with systems that support the compliance and audit processes and provide support to the separate business segments.
  • Reconcile the accrued sales tax accounts to sales reports monthly.
  • Help monitor the receipt of sales tax exemption forms and answer questions as needed.
  • Keep track of sales tax credits and file amended returns, as needed.
  • Prepare and timely file all sales tax returns online each month.
  • Projects as determined by senior leadership.
  • Prepare monthly sales tax calculations using sales tax engine and reconcile differences to ERP system calculations.
  • Research, identify and implement a sales/use tax automation platform.
  • Oversee and provide data for any sales tax audits.

2-4 years of relevant sales/use tax experience.
Bachelor's Degree
A self starter who works independently and decisively.
Attention to detail is a must.
Hybrid/Remote work environment.
Advance knowledge of MS Office and tier 1 or 2 ERP platform.
Working knowledge of sales/use tax automation platforms i.e. Vertex, Avalara, etc.
Strong communicator to all levels of the organization.
