Manufacturing Purchasing Manager Jobs in Tennessee

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, or Engineering with Supply Chain Management Experience required

· 3 years of management of an indirect material crib

· Direct management of Crib Supervisor(s)

· Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities

· Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

5-10 years’ experience, including at least two years in a management position in purchasing and materials management.

Hands on experience sourcing from domestic and best-cost offshore suppliers

Manage supplier relationships, including regular visits to supplier sites

Collaborate with design engineering, operations, materials and production planning, and finance professionals in forecasting demand and appropriate inventory levels.

Bachelor’s degree required. Certification by APICS as a CPIM or similar is a plus.

Should have experience with supplier sourcing and development, including site visits for evaluating or negotiating with vendors.

Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Construction, Production/Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Attending project manager meetings as needed to answer questions about takeoffs or engineering issues, prevent misuse of materials and eliminate variances.

Assist Purchasing Manager in review of budgets for monthly pricing adjustments.

Knowledgeable about the construction industry, including construction costs, building codes, materials, products, methods, and procedures.

Proven organizational skills in a high paced work environment.

5-7 years progressive experience in purchasing.

Evaluate suppliers on the basis of the price, quality, and speed of delivery of their products and services.

Interview vendors and visit suppliers’ plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.

Attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn about new industry trends and make contacts with suppliers.

Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable price.

Work out agreements with suppliers, such as when products will be delivered.

Meet with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
