Work with the US plants to identify key opportunities for improvement in materials management and procurement practices.

Provide oversight and management of key categories to plant materials management teams in managing RFQ to purchasing agreement process.

Provides feedback and coaches plant management teams regarding materials management practices.

Create and document materials management best practices and standard processes for the US plants.

Create a training and development program to train plant materials teams on material management processes.

Manage the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of the purchasing team. Develop goals, accountabilities and objectives directly connected to STF’s long-term strategy.

Negotiate and execute purchase orders and/or vendor contracts as needed to support critical business needs.

Use competitive bidding to obtain the best overall value for the company

Collaborate with plant functional areas, purchasing team and joint ventures to effectively identify synergies and document cost savings opportunities to completion.

Maintain measurable performance metrics to include supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, and material shortage elimination.

Act as a subject matter expert.

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, or Engineering with Supply Chain Management Experience required

· 3 years of management of an indirect material crib

· Direct management of Crib Supervisor(s)

· Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities

· Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

5+ years previous experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Sourcing, or a similar role.

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, capital equipment with high mix/low volume a plus.

· Play a major role in Site Inventory reviews to determine and manage inventory needs.

· Investigates alternative suppliers offering equivalent goods on more cost-effective terms.

Prepare bid awards requiring senior management approval.

Manage and source ingredients and or packaging items in MRP.

Manage and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in ordering raw materials and packaging.

Manage vendor relations. Develop Strategic alliances with suppliers to ensure the company is supplied

Interview vendors and evaluate their products and capabilities as a supplier.

Negotiate and purchase raw materials, packaging and finished goods while managing inventory levels.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

2-3 years’ experience in purchasing or related field.

Strong communication skills and the ability to handle potential tense interactions with clients.

Broad professional and managerial skills with an understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as FDA requirements, ISO standards, and other applicable industry guidelines.

Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and market developments that could impact procurement strategies and supplier capabilities.

Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payment processing, budget control, and cost tracking.

Coordinate and manage the efforts of Purchasing Agents.

Manage timely, profitable returns of materials no longer needed in the field.

Manage materials that are non-returnable in the most profitable manner.

High school diploma or GED equivalent, continued/ongoing education and training related to purchasing functions.

Strong analytical and communication skills

Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in the industry

Participate in RC 14001 Management Review Meetings

Manage production priorities and expenditures up to authorized limits

Worth with appropriate managers to handle employee discipline up to and including termination, employee recognition, policies that effect personnel, etc.

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (or related field), minimum 5 years manufacturing process experience and supervisory experience preferred

Good understanding of production operations as well as strong knowledge of plant controls and instrumentation
