Purchasing Manager Jobs

Very busy and successful company in the Northeast corner of Arkansas needs a Supply Chain Manager. To qualify, you must agree to live within an hour of the company location, and to travel 25%.

Managing at least a $30M spend with three buyers, you will establish strategic purchasing processes that mesh with the company’s policies and core values. These purchases include electrical, mechanical, electronics, raw material like sheet steel, and contracted assemblies. To qualify, your experience should include work with a company that assembles and manufactures equipment, machinery, appliances. Some experience with robotics is a plus.

• Identify and monitor potential supply risks and proactively develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Negotiate with suppliers for terms and conditions of contracts, cost, payment terms.
• Collaborate with design engineering, operations, materials and production planning, and finance professionals in forecasting demand and appropriate inventory levels.
• Build healthy relationships with suppliers that improve the company’s ability to deliver high quality products at reasonable prices.
• Manage supplier relationships, including regular visits to supplier sites
• Hands on experience sourcing from domestic and best-cost offshore suppliers
• Evaluate supplier for cost, quality of products and their packaging, on-time delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5-10 years’ experience, including at least two years in a management position in purchasing and materials management.
• Experience working with technical manufactured products, perhaps an engineering background, is a plus.
• Should have experience with supplier sourcing and development, including site visits for evaluating or negotiating with vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree required. Certification by APICS as a CPIM or similar is a plus.
• Expert user of typical MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with requests for quotation, contract negotiation, purchase order specifications and approvals.
