Qualification Summary - GIS Data Analyst

Experience with the Bureau of Land Management’s corporate business processes, federal land records, and resource management practices.

Experience managing large datasets and web services including map, feature, image, tile cache, and geoprocessing services from development through production.

Experience with Amazon EC2 cloud and S3 instances specifically in support of ESRI’s ArcGIS Enterprise Suite.

Proficient in both vector and raster data management and analysis techniques.

Bilingual in Spanish is an added benefit, but not a requirement.

A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for up to one year of experience required.

Certified FAA Part 107 UAS (drone) pilot, or committed to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Obtains, compiles, and analyzes GIS data from a variety of sources, including DWGs, drone imagery, and field collection.

Conducts routine field audits to check accuracy of GIS data and updates databases with any returned discrepancies.

Authors Python programming scripts to aid in the automation of large geoprocessing tasks.

Assists in the planning, research, development, and preparation of projects, including web applications and geoprocessing scripts.

Apply knowledge of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Portal to train and develop solutions for field staff;

3+ years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS software and extensions; Ideally in utilities and/or municipal work;

Demonstrated experience working with ArcGIS 10.x and ArcGIS Pro including desktop extensions (Spatial Analyst, 3d Analyst, etc.);

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Access;

Proven organization and problem solving skills;

Must be able to formulate and clearly communicate ideas to others, including those who have only a basic knowledge of GIS;

Experience working in a fully remote workforce

Manage project timelines and report the status of tasks to supervisors to ensure task completion within established timeframes.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in GIS Analysis, Environmental Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering or related field.

Years of Related Experience: 3 years experience in GIS career field.

Experience with ESRI mapping tools.

Experience with ArcGIS editing tools, shapefiles, personal/file geodatabases, geodatabase topology and editing in a SDE multi-user database.

Experience working with 3D data is a plus.
