What we're looking for
The VP of IT and IS at Vacasa is a leader responsible for the delivery of IT services through people, process, and infrastructure, and for all information security activities in support of the organization. The VP of IT and IS will drive the strategy, implementation, and operation of our end-user support, IT infrastructure, SaaS portfolio,and our company-wide information security management program while protecting the business from security threats and cyber threats. This role reports directly to the CTPO.
What you'll do
- Communicate security-related matters with customers, clients, partners, and key stakeholders
- Develop, maintain, and publish up-to-date information security policies, standards, and guidelines
- Foster a healthy and collaborative team culture where you lead by example, operate with empathy and understanding, and provide space for all team members to contribute and grow
- Direct teams that manage a diverse portfolio of thousands of end-user devices (laptops, tablets, and smartphones) in a remote work environment
- Develop, and manage a resilient security infrastructure
- Provide subject-matter expertise to address internal escalations
- Work with our financial planning and analysis team to develop cost models for labor, hardware, and third-party software. Manage adherence to the resulting budget.
- Direct the automation of business processes
- Actively guide third-party solution procurement, working with stakeholders and our procurement team to ensure new solutions are complementary to the strategic platform vision
- Partner closely with business leaders to understand company objectives and ensure effective delivery of services and systems that meet them
- Develop a data-driven and continuous-improvement-based culture, consistently improving automation, processes, and metrics to drive superior service and cost leverage
- Oversee the ongoing administration, configuration, and maintenance of third-party solutions
- Direct the implementation of critical third-party solutions, including financial systems, ensuring that proper security, compliance, and integration choices are made
- Partner with our enterprise risk management team to ensure that compliance needs are met on an ongoing basis, including well-formed IT general controls, separation of duties, and regular user access audits
- Directly contribute to compliance-related activities such as control development
- Develop a cohesive strategy across our portfolio of third-party solutions, identifying gaps/weaknesses and recommending solutions that address the business' needs
- Explore new technologies and validate concepts to help the team choose the right tools for the job
- Other duties as assigned
- Partner with Engineering to ensure vulnerabilities that put Vacasa at risk are identified, prioritized for remediation, and proactively managed on a continuous basis
Skills you'll need
- Experience developing and managing to a complex budget
- 10 years of information technology and security experience with 5+ years leadership experience; experience in a high-growth business environment preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in any of the following areas: Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science
- Ability to change focus frequently and cope with interruptions
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skill
- Experience in a lean, cloud-services-centric IT environment
- Experience directly developing and maintaining SOX-compliant IT general controls, ISO 27002 experience a plus
- Highly responsive and reliable
- Professional communication in email, phone calls, video calls, and texts
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience in the Hospitality industry a plus
- Experience automating business processes, including financial processes
- Experience in directly managing and directing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Experience integrating acquired IT assets, processes, and procedures to ensure they meet policy, regulatory, architectural and security standards
- Experience directing the management of end-user devices via modern endpoint management and endpoint protection solutions
- Experience directing the implementation of a broad range of third-party solutions, including key financial systems
- Ability to work well under pressure in an agile, face-paced environment
- Experience managing a geo-distributed team of technicians and engineers
- Comfortable making decisions that balance risk and cost
Compensation
- $250000 - $280000 / year
