Job Description
This position is remote. Must be willing to travel to NYC (123 William St) and Seattle (2101 4th Ave Suite 810) multiple times per year.


The Vice President of Technology holds a pivotal role within Biscred's executive team, reporting directly to the President. You will assume leadership of a skilled and geographically dispersed engineering unit, strategizing and implementing solutions that will further propel Biscred's expansion. Additionally, you will establish the trajectory and framework for Biscred's technology and architecture, working in tandem with Bisnow's technical division. Your role will involve close collaboration as a valued business partner, cooperating with stakeholders to translate business requisites and product concepts into tangible outcomes delivered by the engineering group. Key Responsibilities


  • Partner with finance to own the technology budget and department budget while assuring that resources are being used efficiently, while also providing the most value for the company
  • Ownership of technology subscriptions across the organization to include Slack, ZOOM, Salesforce etc
  • Manage the AWS infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.
  • Lead in the discovery and implementation of new forward-thinking technologies that yield competitive advantage, especially in the arenas of Machine Learning and Generative AI
  • Oversee all technological operations and expenditures while managing the workforce and vendors involved, ensuring efficiency and smooth workflow, maximizing outcomes for the business.
  • Provide technical vision and direction to support the long-term product roadmap and ongoing talent retention & attraction.
  • Evaluate current backend and data pipeline architecture, process, systems, and 3rd party vendors; recommend and implement improvements based on business objectives
  • Manage, develop, and grow a talented, multi-functional technology team consisting of 16+ Software Engineering, Data Architect, and Project Management skill sets. Provides team with operational support, ongoing coaching, professional development, periodic check-ins, and ensures accountability with a focus on succession planning
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product management, marketing, sales, and content while managing up and across the organization
  • Collaborate with HR and People Operations for interviewing, hiring, managing technology needs and onboarding new department talent.
  • Build quality assurance and data protection processes
  • Partner with product to optimize the SDLC and ensure ideas flow efficiently through an evolving process of vetting, refinement, estimation, decisioning, execution, delivery, and monitoring.
  • In collaboration with Product, maintain project scheduling and sequencing as the orchestrator to ensure scrum teams are communicating and collaborating in tandem. Cultivate the vibrant and transparent workplace culture of empowerment, trust, and radical candor.
  • Work with onshore and offshore QA and Devops teams estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating infrastructure and quality testing activities
  • Provide technical guidance and architecture direction to engineering for building new systems and altering existing systems
  • Engage and assume accountability for the product roadmap and take ownership of the supporting engineering roadmap to ensure execution of the product vision.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


  • Strong experience developing and managing Data Science teams.
  • Highly experienced with working within data-driven environments, making business decisions based on data. Expertise in seeking new ways to leverage data that drives outcomes
  • Possess a strong grasp of Laravel and the capability to actively engage with its codebase. Moreover, the ideal candidates would bring proficiency in Python, which could potentially complement their Laravel skills, adding value through a broader skill set
  • Strong understanding of budgets and business-planning
  • 10+ years experience in DaaS or SaaS software and data engineering, with 3+ years leading technology teams
  • Experience leading and scaling a team of engineering talent, with a strong preference for experience managing distributed teams
  • Ability to manage & optimize current technology stack, including Terraform, Lamda, AWS Glue, PHP Laravel, JS (Vue), MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Docker & Snowplow
  • 5+ years of practical agile leadership experience.  
  • Ability to conduct technological prototyping and research
  • A track record of building high quality data pipelines and products that deliver on all fronts: design, functionality, quality, scale and purpose
