Please note that while this position primarily involves online instruction, occasional travel, and in-person attendance will be required to support state testing and student events.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary instructor in all core content areas and grade levels, serving as the teacher of record.
Dedicate relentless effort towards achieving student achievement and fostering a positive learning culture, aligning with state-specific academic accountability goals.
Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conferences, tailored to meet individual student needs and rooted in research-based instructional practices.
Set up courses within the Learning Management System and ensure its completion.
Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses, providing daily feedback and grading assignments.
Maintain regular contact with each student to offer support and guidance.
Collaborate with the Principal to create and deliver Progress Reports for students.
Review student-level data regularly to inform instructional adjustments.
Employ differentiated instruction strategies to cater to the diverse needs of all students.
Infuse culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons, interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
Uphold school-wide culture expectations and norms, both inside and outside the classroom.
Foster consistent communication with families concerning their child's academic and social-emotional development.
Integrate 21st-century technology skills into daily classroom practices and team settings.
Participate in the planning and execution of non-instructional activities, including social events and field trips, and attend these events in person.
Collaborate effectively and respectfully with colleagues.
Travel as needed to support mandatory in-person state testing annually.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Possess a current state teaching license in the relevant content area.
Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards.
Preferably have a minimum of two years' teaching experience.
Comfortable working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Capability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time and supervise students in various school settings.
Able to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
Experience working in a multi-cultural setting is a plus.
