Vice President, Travel Sales
Reporting to the CRO, the Vice President of Travel Sales is a Global Sales Leader experienced in selling complex, multi-dimensional opportunities to Airline and Travel related customers.
The VP of Sales will have experience and a record of leading a high-performing, consultative sales teams. The ideal candidate is a sales leader with an impressive track record in software sales. This individual will lead a team of Global Executive Account Mangers to grow their business and develop a portfolio of customers through focused, account-based strategies throughout the region. A Day in the Life of the Regional Vice President, Travel Sales- About the role:
- Establish quarterly targets for Sales reps to assure attainment of annual sales objectives, revenue growth and profitability
- ·Drive, inspect, and coach Sales reps through the PROS sales process. Establish and maintain employee performance standards. Provide ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations, per company guidelines
- Employ a disciplined approach to enable Sales reps for accurate prospecting, opportunity identification, forecasting, demand generation, and opportunity management in a complex sales environment
- Direct a global team of seasoned sales reps and cross-functional subject-matter experts to land new accounts. Directly manage sales team for assigned under Airline industry including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems
- Develop key end-customer relationships to create opportunity, maintain loyalty and continuity, and improve overall quality of the sale
- Work in conjunction with Marketing leadership and Product Managers to coordinate marketing efforts in order to maximize sales volume, product mix, and margin
Required Qualifications - About you:
We are looking for candidates who possess the combination of the following achievements, skills and behaviors:
- Excellence in simultaneously managing multiple sales opportunities
- Ability to Sales reps to deliver clear and compelling offers to senior level and technical airline customers
- Proven ability in leading, coaching and counseling; performance management; training; and mentoring sales teams to maximize the contribution of each individual, get results through others and reach sales goals
- 10+ years of global experience with progressive sales managerial responsibilities and proven track record of success creating and developing a high-performance sales function, preferably in the airline industry
- Experience in managing sales teams with opportunities with long sales cycles.
- Consistent track record of attracting and developing talent
- Strong attention to detail, clear communicator, and listener, both in-person and virtually.
- Strong demonstrated business acumen, including upper-level experience with overall strategic business planning, sales/marketing planning, sales forecasting, budgeting, P&L responsibility and employee management
- Proficiency in Salesforce (or other CRM), Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Ability to work across cultures and time zones
- Success in creating and exceeding revenue, profitability and market share goals through a variety of means
- Willing to travel 50 to 75%
- International sales experience
Highly Preferred:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field.
