VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES


The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing and owning the brick & mortar strategy for Hatchery Group, initially with a focus on Walmart Inc. This role is the lead Business Development and Client Relationship agent in the company. The Vice President of Sales is capable of strategically leading and managing client direction and ensure execution, as well as develop new clients based on closure of new business opportunities. In addition, this role will own the most senior relationships with their client and retailers and have core responsibility for leading and developing their teams.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Executive Leadership & Development of Company Strategy

·Member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO.

·Ownership of the brick & mortar strategy with focus on Walmart Inc. With ownership comes development, optimization, and presentation of strategic direction to leadership.

·Responsible for hiring plan and build out of Sales & support team to over deliver against company objectives.

·Budgeting (P&L, BS, CF) & P&L ownership.

Business Development

·Ownership of new client BD pipeline developed through networking, personal relationships, and referrals.

·Qualification of “right fit” clients for the HG model to ensure appropriate use of HG resources.

·Achievement of overall financial budgets, targets, and EBT plans as agreed to in the annual planning process.

Strategic Client Leadership

·Development of a multi-year plan for each client, based upon mutually agreed financial targets, as well as strategies and measures to exceed the targets.

·Acts as the key client senior executive connection for serviced clients.

·Develop effective senior level relationships at the client (beyond the current relationship).

oCEO/SVP relationship development

oCreate and support HG CEO connections with client executives.

Team Direction and Business Execution

·Evaluation of resource requirements to appropriately service the client, evaluating profit impact.

·Coordination of dedicated client resources to ensure alignment with strategic plans, execution timelines, and ongoing daily performance (replenishment logistics, buyer response speed, etc.).

·Participation and oversight of critical presentation development – review of materials, input provided to the working team.

·Participation in key buyer interactives, including line reviews (when appropriate) and other mission-critical meetings with retailers.

·Senior tier retailer relationship development for necessary effectiveness and achievement of agreed client goals, including top-to-top relationship building.

·Team development, including ongoing training & development plans for each Sales team member.

·Understands performance metrics for team, validates monthly, quarterly, annual forecasts and performance reporting.

·Proven ability to identify, qualify and land substantial clients

·Solid ability to develop and deliver presentations that influence clients to work with Hatchery Group

·Strong network of relationships in retail and manufacturing that leads to new client relationships

Client Management & Leadership Experience

Retailer Knowledge, Relationships, and Management

·Broad awareness of how the specific retailer operates (specifically Walmart/Sam’s Club – but others are valuable) – including systems, processes, decision matrices, etc.

·Experienced in penetrating retailer organization at senior levels (up to SVP) with a good knowledge of when to escalate issues.

·Executional knowledge of developing effective programs that can drive a client’s business – organizational savvy to get things done.

·Knows how to align allies, bringing them along and assessing needs before presenting arguments.

Minimum Requirements:

·Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year institution. MBA is a plus.

·7-10 years of minimum sales experience with CPG manufacturers, broker service organizations or retail

·Proven experience leading a cross-functional sales team (sales, replenishment, analytics)

·Strong network relationships with Walmart, Inc.
