Vice President Or Senior Manager, Project Operations

We are looking for a passionate Vice President or Senior Manager of Project Operations who will lead the design, project management, and implementation of Cultivo’s live natural capital projects around the world. We are seeking a talented individual who is motivated to work on real-world, scalable solutions that can help Cultivo tackle the climate, biodiversity, and land degradation crises. Requirements

Experience:

• Success working with multiple, overlapping stakeholders and counterparties from different regions of the world and with different objectives
• Strong risk management skills to identify potential project challenges and develop mitigation strategies
• Success negotiating contracts, agreements, and terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
• Familiarity with the voluntary carbon credit market (preferred), particularly improved forest management, grasslands restoration, and biodiversity project development and the related registries and standards bodies
• Success managing project finances, controlling costs, and ensuring projects stay within budget constraints
• Success creating budgets and financial forecasting for complex projects
• Success navigating regulations, permits, quality, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to completion
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management, with a preference for those with experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, etc.) / energy, land restoration, land management, and/or project development

Education:

• Education and/or experience in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Soil, Forestry, Renewables, Oil/Gas, Natural Sciences (Biology, Geology, Biochemistry), Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical) or related fields
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent project management credentials

• Strong leadership and negotiation skills to guide cross-functional teams
• Exceptionally good at managing remote teams and coordinating their activities
• Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to inform and influence
• Passion for details and schedules

Other:

• Proficiency with Notion and/or other project management tools
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills. Fluency in Spanish is a big plus
• Interest in occasionally traveling internationally for project needs
• Aptitude for identifying issues and devising practical solutions in real-time
• Preferred Location: US, UK, or Mexico
• Capacity to make informed decisions under pressure

What You’ll be Doing

• Executing, and leading the detailed program and project management of Cultivo’s live natural capital regeneration projects around the world
• Collaborating with dozens of diverse stakeholders and counterparties, including but certainly not limited to landowners, project developers, auditors, ranchers, regulatory bodies, scientists, consultants, and local communities
• Leading the creation of project description documents (PDDs) for land regeneration projects
• Providing regular progress updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders; connecting the dots across departments and keeping all moving parts of a project organized and on target
• Managing contractor and supplier relationships, including search, recruitment, and performance assessment
• Leading the design and supervising the monitoring, reporting, and verification processes of projects
• Providing ongoing contributions to Cultivo’s systems and infrastructure, including its Technology Platform
• Continue to build Cultivo’s overall project management systems and procedures
