Destination Sport Experiences, through its’ global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks, caters for those who want to participate in the very best cycling, running and triathlon events across the world. Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks offers tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to marathons, cycling events, and long-distance triathlons around the world, together with VIP hospitality access to many of the top professional cycling events as well as managing travel programs for mass participation events.

We are a proud partner of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and work closely with major sports events organisers across the Globe. Our team are also runners, cyclists, and triathletes, so we understand the needs of competitors.

Due to an exciting year of growth, we are now looking for a Vice President of Operations to join our senior leadership team & take responsibility of the day-to-day operations within our Boston office.

This is a varied, hands-on role and on a typical day you will:

• Coordinate quarterly business review process
• Coordinate sales & marketing activity while looking for new commercial revenue opportunities
• Assist the Manchester, UK head office with financial reporting requirements
• Ensure all activity in North America for each brand is aligned with global objectives
• Set objectives, review performance, and ensure appraisals are completed in appraised to company specified timeline
• Be responsible for the budget of North America
• Line manage the Trip Designers including assisting with trip pricing reviews, currency reviews & trip host coverage requirements & assignments
• Be responsible for IT requirements
• Assist with annual sales & partnerships plan in North America
• Ensure the office is adequately staffed at all times, taking in to account annual leave and peaks and troughs of the business.
• Refine existing & new processes to align with global operation
• Hold regular 121’s with the team to discuss their overall performance in line with the company objectives. Set clear action plans for underperformers
• With support from our central HR team, you will provide general HR management for your team. Ensure any payroll changes are approved and sent for payment, handle the recruitment and induction process for new hires, ensure any leave requests are processed and logged
• Be responsible for the day-to-day operations within our Boston office
• Identify areas of training and development within the team
• Assist with acquisition strategy
• Assist with development plan focussed on growth in Spanish speaking areas of Central & South America
• Coach and develop members of the team

• Have excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
• Have a strong understanding and working experience with CRM
• Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field
• Have flexibility for occasional travel both domestically and internationally
• Have significant working knowledge & experience
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Having Spanish speaking language skills would be highly desirable
