Job Description
Transportation Manager
Key Purpose
The Transportation Manager will effectively manage transportation programming across multiple locations. They will administer and assist with continuous improvement of the shuttle, vanpool, active transportation, transit, carpool, and guaranteed ride home programs as well as onsite parking needs.

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • The ability to converse with peers and clients in a genuine, professional, and confident manner
  • High degree of energy and initiative with a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Associate Degree; and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, using logical reasoning in the analysis and solution of route and schedule problems
  • Ability to interact and respond to employees in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to compile information and data into various formats and graphs for internal and external stakeholders
  • A clean driver’s license is required
Key Accountabilities
  • Promote alternative transportation options and participate in events including, orientations, to let new employees know about our transportation options
  • Coordinate with the preferred service providers to ensure that all routes are adequately serviced
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the shuttle transportation services and alternative transportation services, including Vanpool, and alternative transportation severicessuch as active transportation methods (cycling, walking, etc.), where applicable, ride-share, and campus shuttle services
  • Routinely analyze shuttle data, Vanpool usage and active transportation trends; identify problems or gaps, evaluates alternatives and solutions, and provides recommendations
  • Receive special transportation requests; communicates directly with requestors to confirm/deny requests and schedule such requests with management
  • Assist with development of short and long-range plans for implementation of new or modified routes, discontinuance of unproductive service, and amenity improvements. Focuses on traditional fixed-route services as well as demand-responsive services
  • Coordinate and manages bus schedules, Vanpool schedules, and active transportation events in conjunction with outsourced providers
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Walking/Inspecting the site 50% of the time
  • Sitting at a computer for 50% of the time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds
  • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
