Principal Food Service Manager, Nutrition - Santa Monica Hospital

As a Principal Food Service Manager, you are responsible for the organization of work and assignment of resources for the daily operation of the meal tray services, call center, catering, and sanitation of the Santa Monica Hospital Nutrition kitchen. In this role you will supervise at least 25 employees in the department to ensure cooperation, teamwork, and goals are met. Responsibilities include: * Lead personnel items such as hiring, training, career development, evaluations, merits, and payroll records * Maintain set budget for labor and supplies * Participate in several performance improvement projects * Facilitate constructive conflict resolution among the internal department as well as third thirties * Observe and supervise adherence to all Joint Commissions and HACCP standards and requirements relevant to food handling * Hold regular staff meetings to inform staff on current and future issues; ensure that staff are well informed & involved, participate fully as a team member, forming good, productive relationships with all areas in the Nutrition Department Salary Range: $51,800-108,800 Annually

Required: * Dietetic Service Supervisor certification. * ServeSafe certification. * Experience training, coaching, and evaluating staff. * Ability to work in a standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively. * Ability to practice safe food handling techniques and good hygiene. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Must have the ability to adjust to fluctuating work load and adhere to production schedules. * Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers. * Have a proactive approach toward continuous organizational improvement to create a positive work environment. * Flexible work schedule based on operational needs.
