Training & Development Specialist
Position Overview:
Aurora Flight Sciences, A Boeing Company, is seeking a Training & Development Specialist to serve in the analysis, development, planning, and execution of assignments for Manufacturing Technicians, Project Managers and Engineers that are on the cutting-edge of technological breakthroughs in the aerospace industry. The selected candidate will lead instructional design, assist with conducting needs assessments and development of measurement instruments for instructional assignments, and engage in professional training evaluation services in support of organizational and departmental training initiatives. This position will report to the Manufacturing Planning & Development Manager and will be based in Columbus, MS. Responsibilities:
- Partner with Manufacturing Managers and Leads to assess workforce skill matrices, identify development opportunities, and develop course content.
- Prepares auxiliary plans for training project completion, including comprehensive scripting, storyboarding and timelines. Coordinates related instructional document preparation from support staff.
- Conducts needs assessments/instructional analysis to ensure conformity with mission training objectives and develops training plans as needed. Specifically, analyzes results to determine learning needs and performance gaps.
- Prepares training status reports, exhibits, communications, and training desk procedures as required.
- Conducts performance-based measurement assessments for objective evaluation of instructional programs.
- Administers learning plans, including enrollments, changes, grade reporting, and auditing.
- Remains current on developments in training and instructional methodologies, including technology enhancements, and attends periodic seminars, forums, and meetings to ensure currency of education.
- Conducts instructional program training and evaluates training review criteria.
- Designs and develops curriculum and instructional material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates and modifies existing and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes.
- Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical setup, including any audiovisual equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Prior experience developing curriculum and conducting trainings in a classroom and computer-based learning environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Minimum 6 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master’s Degree plus 4 years of related work experience or 10 years of related work experience).
Desired Requirements:
- PHR, SHRMP-CP.
- 8 years of related work experience.
- Aerospace or Manufacturing industry experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a composite, metal, and avionics manufacturing environment and follow Boeing regulations for lifting.
- Work Onsite in Columbus, MS.
