About the position:

We are seeking a proactive self-starter at the (Senior) Associate level to join the Sustainable Finance Americas team, based in New York. The role requires an individual who can independently discuss sustainable finance products, liaise with clients, execute mandates and conduct ESG data analysis.

ING is a pioneer in Sustainable Finance and has Sustainability as one of the three strategic pillars. We believe it is our duty to leverage our global network, sector expertise and sustainability leadership to supporting clients towards a sustainable global economy.

As companies look to adopt sustainable strategies to future-proof their business, they need financing solutions to support their sustainability ambitions. The Sustainable Finance team structures, delivers and execute such solutions with more than 50 dedicated personnel in eleven countries collaborating to ensure the integrity and ongoing innovation of the sustainable finance market.

Responsibilities:

• Extract relevant regulatory, market standards and sector data and distil it into concise in clear messages
• Track and report sustainable finance deals
• Support and coordination of internal teach in sessions,
• Guide and supervise more junior members of the team in the preparation of client presentations and credit documentation review
• Contribute to regional and global newsletters and relevant research pieces
• Work on marketing materials preparation, with primary focus on supporting deal origination and execution

Qualifications and Competencies:

• You have a BA or BS or a post-graduate degree (sustainability-related or engineering a plus)
• You have a passion for sustainability
• You have 3-5 years of commercial or sustainability-related work experience
• You have good organizational skills and can reliably deliver on tight deadlines
• You are proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• You are fluent in English and communicates effectively on both written and oral basis
• You are dedicated, proactive, ambitious and take ownership
• You demonstrate a high degree of analytical competence

Base Salary Range: $120K-$155K

Understanding of banking products, sustainability-related products, ESG ratings and ESG disclosure standards are very important considerations. You will work closely with the existing team members, the regional front office teams and with the global network.
