Investment Banking Associate (Pui)

Our client, a leading Independent specialist US Investment Bank are looking to add an additional Associate into their Power/Utilities/Infrastructure (PUI) Team. This position based in NY working with some of the top Bankers in these sectors.

This team is responsible for structuring and executing a wide range of complex domestic and cross-border transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, spin-offs, joint-ventures and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts.

Specifically looking for an Associate who will be responsible to:

• Advise and work closely with clients on all transaction elements, including modelling and valuation, financial and strategic analysis, deal financing, due diligence coordination, negotiations, deal structuring, etc
• Execute Power/Utilities/Infrastructure industry transactions across a broad range of IBD solutions (M&A in particular but some degree of ECM Advisory)

The ideal candidate will have a background as follows:

• M&A deal experience in either/or Power, Utilities, Energy, Infrastructure sector required
• A proven background in Corporate finance / M&A. Ideally 3-5 years experience.
• Excellent financial modelling experience (operating models, capital models, merger models, LBO etc)
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Strong communications skills – ability to interact confidently with banking professionals
• Excellent financial modelling skills
• Good academic qualifications and demonstrated performance
