THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

The Strategist manages indirect procurement programs from spend analysis and program strategy to post-award support. Works with various internal business and external partners to streamline sourcing and transaction of these categories, focusing on partnership, transparency, integrity and ease of procurement.

Responsibilities

• Hold review meetings with major suppliers, review service levels, growth trajectory, category movement and opportunities for additional savings
• Monitor overall usage & recommend item rationalization for additional savings and regulatory compliance
• Champion work that furthers our green mission initiatives and ethical standards
• Establish reporting requirements for usage and financial performance
• Work with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership
• Monitor supplier transitions and off-program purchases, working with distributors and regions
• Present analysis--both qualitative and quantitative--to Procurement leadership and key stakeholders prior to obtaining approval to award business
• Monitor rebate accounting reports for volume commitment opportunities
• Manage the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFX, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation
• Provide guidance on financial targets
• Develop and support category strategy and review process in partnership with applicable teams
• Manage full end to end sourcing events (RFP, RFI)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to explain and promote solutions with a focus on total-cost-of-ownership, program transition costs, and ease of implementation
• Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
• Strong negotiator with proven ability in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations
• Excellent communication including written, verbal, and listening skills
• Experience with procurement systems and familiarity with procure to pay technical platforms (such as SAP Ariba and Coupa)
• Ability to lead collaboration and influence diverse stakeholders in adoption of effective process
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience and at least 4 years relevant indirect procurement experience
• Exceptional, proven project and team leadership and development skills
• Proven in-depth knowledge of indirect sourcing and procurement principles and industry best practices
• Advanced level skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, product movement software, report writing and familiarity with query software

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing activity across multiple category areas including professional services and technology
• Experience in retail or consumer products industries
