Our School District, founded in 1917, is a public school district located about 25 miles north of Dallas in the rapidly growing region of central Collin County. The district covers approximately 17 square miles. Our School District is home to over 4,000 Pre-K-12 students. We are categorized as a 5A school district for athletics, fine arts, and academic competitions. We will remain a district with only one high school, with 9-12 enrollment not to exceed 1,900 students. We graduated its first senior class in 2010, and consistently receives both state and national recognitions in academics, fine arts and athletics. We believe every student deserves to be surrounded by the best educators who strive to exceed the individual needs of each student and prepare them for the future of their choosing.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Procurement to join our team in the engineering industry. As the Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for leading the procurement team and managing the procurement process. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure that all raw materials and supplies are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular reports to senior management on procurement performance and initiatives.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Manage the procurement team and oversee the procurement process, including contract negotiations, purchasing, and journal entries.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify the raw materials and supplies needed for production.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure that they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
• Work with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the procurement process.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of journal entries and accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with raw material procurement and inventory management.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in the engineering industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
