Arbor is a public benefit company with the mission to bring people together through shared history. We do this by offering a video platform for families to capture their stories so they can share their history. We currently operate in stealth mode, meaning while we have a live product, we are keeping our usage purposefully low so we can learn, and don’t openly advertise on social media platforms.

About The Role
Arbor is looking for a Story Producer for our company in the digital family story space. This Story Producer will be working with the Creative and Post-Production teams to work on short-form videos.
In this role, you will be required to take a session that is 30-45 minutes long with a storyteller and break out several individual stories that are 2-5 minutes long. The stories must be engaging and truly reflect the storyteller’s voice for their family history.
The Story Producer will have access to the original recording, transcript, and notes from the biographer who conducted the initial interview(s). The Story Producer will rough cut the edit in Descript and send it to the editor. The Story Producer will work closely with our staff of editors on all edits and ensure the story meets the Arbor look and sound standards, the graphics are correct, and the story moves in a way where it makes an impact on the viewer.
If an edit does not pass the quality check, the Story Producer will work with the editor to correct any issues that are able to be fixed or report back to the quality check the reasons why it can not be corrected.
Requirements

• Turn around a story cut in Descript within 24 hours, send it to the editor, and work with the editor to finish the edit; it should take 2-7 business days to complete one session.
• Observe the stories that unfolded during filming, come up with a storyline for the prompt and a story title, guide the storyteller to create footage that fits within the storyline, and direct editors to edit in a way that conveys the storyline (or edit the film yourself). You work alongside a team of story editors and story producers to produce “Quality with a capital Q” videos. It’s crucial that you stay true to the storyteller while engaging the audience.
• This role requires individuals to be self-sufficient, work remotely, and own their own equipment. This role may require weekend work but can be flexible when edits are needed to be delivered.
