Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Artist's Representative to join Garry Grant's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fine art, specifically contemporary and abstract art, as well as African-American art. As an Artist's Representative, you will play a key role in managing Garry's work, extending his influence, and driving commercial success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain active promotion of Garry's work on social media channels and follow up on all inquiries.
  • Organize and host events and openings at Garry's studio and other venues.
  • Collaborate with the artist on setting art prices and maintaining an updated price list.
  • Process sales, pay sales tax, and send payment to the artist after commission deductions.
  • Pursue museum exhibitions, commissions, institutional acquisitions, and opportunities for group and solo exhibitions.
  • Arrange for packing, shipping, delivery, and installation of artwork, in collaboration with licensed and insured vendors.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials via professionally produced cards or emails.
  • Update, maintain, and expand a database of prospective clients including curators, museum directors, dealers, and collectors
  • Cultivate ongoing relationships with clients, providing them with information about and access to the Artist, as necessary.


Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detailed, organized, and commercially-focused.
  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong social media following and relationships with collectors, curators, and influencers.
  • Familiarity with contracts, and legal and tax issues relevant to artists.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience representing artists or other creative talent.
