EoCell, Inc. began as a Silicon Valley start-up in 2015 with the objective of developing and commercializing Nano-Silicon anode technology to significantly increase energy capacity within Lithium-Ion Batteries. With a highly experienced technical team from high-volume, worldwide battery manufacturers and research institutions, EoCell has successfully achieved breakthrough performance at lab-scale production.
We are looking for a Sr. Director to join the team. It is an opportunity to build up your own team and be in charge of designing and developing high-energy-density battery cells. The person will be responsible for leading the global technology engineering team and building relationships with customers.
Job responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging presentations and progress reports at internal meetings
- Transform product specifications into manufacturing designs
- Oversee the development of cylindrical cells for EV and power tool applications
- Implement robust quality control protocols
- Forge strong supply chain and manufacturing relationships with external partners
- Initiate, plan, and direct research and development projects to resolve complicated battery and battery material-related technical problems
- Work hands-on at our cutting-edge lab in San Jose and travel to manufacturing locations as needed
- Lead a team of engineers to improve and optimize battery characteristics, performance, and safety
- Build, test, and analyze lithium-ion batteries for reproducibility and reliability
- Seek and develop strategic partnerships
- Formulate, implement, and evaluate new battery technologies to meet EV requirements
- Direct the construction of the pilot line for cylindrical cell development
Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of the EV Battery industry
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an automobile company or in the battery development team of a leading company
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical, or equivalent required
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate and share his/her vision, ideas, and plans with colleagues and to be able to deal constructively with opposing ideas or opinions
- Exceptional depth of technical expertise along with strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an applicable experience in a product development role
