Job Description
DirecTV, LLC is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA (& various unanticipated locations throughout the US; may work from home) to lead innovation to create a robust tools and technology architecture that supports all platform engineering efforts. Responsible for designing and implementing solutions that will be used to increase speed, reduce cost and improve quality of the platform engineering delivery efforts. Collaborate with application team to ensure that platform engineering delivery meets or exceeds the agreed upon product quality goals and metrics. Demonstrate technology thought leadership with respect to the key technologies and practices adopted. Maintain and apply a broad and current industry perspective on technology trend and opportunities and leading practices. Collaborate to gather and review requirements, provide estimates, create design specifications and collaborate with engineers and architects to assess and test software interactions. Support applications and solve configuration and environment issues. Support the software deployment process. Work in a collaborative multi-application team environment. Lead the team in development, testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Responsible for production support and release deployments. Train and mentor peers on accessibility best practices. Develop accessibility solutions that adhere to organization and WCAG and section 508 guidelines. Test to ensure accessibility solutions are effective and useful. Utilize ARIA, CCA, ANDI, NVDIA, FireEyes, Jaws, Keyboard Accessibility, Zoomtext, Chrome and Firefox web developer tools. Utilize Java and Spring Boot. Utilize C Sharp and ASP.Net. Utilize PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MongoDB (SQL and NoSQL). Utilize Angular, Reactjs, TypeScript ,JavaScript, NextJs, Node/Express JS, Angularjs, Material UI, jQuery, JSON, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, SPA’s, and RWD. Utilize Cloud Computing Essentials, Performance testing, REST services, Adobe/Google Analytics, Jest, Enzyme, CMS using AEM, CSS Animations and implement SEO requirements. Work with Nginx and Apache servers. Utilize SaaS, PaaS and IaaS, micro-services, APIs, DevSecOps, CICD, and application architecture design. Utilize experience in Telecom/Entertainment domain. Utilize experience in unit testing principles and tools.
