Job Description

Solution Specialist:

We are looking for a motivated, self-organized scientific lab equipment Solution Specialist / Sales Representative to support current customers, expand current business and build a new customer base for products and services for the chemistry/biology research markets: this includes academic, biomedical, chemical, and other fields of research and development.Areas of focus will include developing opportunities to grow the business within an assigned territory, maintaining high customer satisfaction, building and maintaining relationships with distribution partners, growing Heidolph’s market share with new and existing customers while achieving sales and profit goals.


Territory:

North Pacific Territory (Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Washington)


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to close and negotiate potential sales
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to meet weekly/monthly productivity goals and incentives.
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills with the drive to produce in a high-expectation environment.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems.
  • Present product offers.
  • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan.
  • Able to identify and properly qualify business opportunities.
  • Positively represent Heidolph North America all times throughout customer contact.
  • Strong Internet, LinkedIn and Microsoft Office Skills needed for success.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory.
  • Be open to change and highly coachable
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Keep updated database of customer and distribution network
  • Able to prospect and generate new business opportunities through directed outbound calls and cold calling.Also work from an existing client database and generate new sales.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to expand business.
  • Record daily and weekly sales activity reporting, including backlog and opportunity tracking, sales call activity, and related information.
  • Perform other tasks/projects assigned by manager
  • Introduces new products and services effectively
  • Perform calls to prospective clients to qualify new business prospects or generate leads and new business.Contact will primarily be on the phone and email.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all products offered by Heidolph North America.

·Ability to work within a team environment but still work independently

·Develop and manage a list of current and potential customers via follow-up, networking, prospecting, cold calling, customer referrals, etc.

·Meet quarterly and annual sales goals

·Manage the business through use of a CRM

·Perform product demonstrations via cart shows and tabletop shows

·Follow-up with customers on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction

·Attend sales meetings, trade shows, seminars and special training as required.

·Capability of creating a territory plan and executing it.

·Manage a demonstration inventory of equipment and a storage unit.

  • Able to identify and properly qualify business opportunities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all products offered by Heidolph North America.

Requirements:

·Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience selling scientific / laboratory products into biotech, academic and pharmaceutical account.

·Chemistry or Life Science degree is preferred.Will consider equivalent education and experience

·Experience selling through distribution channels

·Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills complimented by an aggressive and solution-oriented track record.

·Excels in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time management with strong communication and presentation skills

·Available to travel overnight

·Capable of lifting equipment for demonstrations and shows

·Must understand technical specifications and operations manuals

·Highly functional with sales tool technologies

·Must be highly motivated to meet weekly/monthly productivity goals and incentives.

·Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills.

·Proven record of establishing goals and achieving results

·Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer & provide effective communication methods. Upbeat, positive “can do” person; build rapport easily
