Job Description
Social Media Community Manager (Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite in Irvine, CA)
Overview
Weedmaps is seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media Community Manager who has deep roots in and a passion for the cannabis industry. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep understanding of online communities to engage in real-time conversations, serving as the voice of Weedmaps across primary social media channels. This role will be responsible for developing and executing community-building tactics, responding to comments and DMs on the Weedmaps channels, and engaging in real-time conversations with other accounts across social channels through the brand voice and guidelines.
The Impact You'll Make
  • Capture and feed insights from the social media community back to internal teams as needed (ie. Product)
  • Experience using social media management and listening tools
  • Build a loyal social community for Weedmaps and help position us as the single-source of truth for all things cannabis
  • Build and publish content across primary social channels and surfaces, including Instagram Stories/Reels, YouTube, Twitter, and beyond.
  • Serve as the voice of Weedmaps, engaging with our community through comments and DMs
  • Develop and execute tactics on the Weedmaps channels that spark conversations, drive engagement and grow our community
  • Measure and report on the value of our social media community
  • Leverage social listening to monitor social media channels for opportunities to engage in conversations and build brand affinity for Weedmaps
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations, and incorporate that knowledge into content creation
  • Capture and share community insights across the content & social media team to ensure data-driven campaigns and content
What You've Accomplished
  • Knowledge of primary social media platforms and how consumers engage on each
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • At least 3 years of experience in social media community management, preferably in the cannabis industry or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality responses in near real-time
  • Passion for the cannabis industry/product knowledge; the ability to speak to common cannabis topics (strains, cannabinoid, terpenes, etc.)
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making
The base pay range for this position is $61,000.00 - $73,000.00
