Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. SUMMARY:
The Orlando based Systems Administrator role is responsible for all aspects of Universal Destinations and Experiences Datacenter Services infrastructure including provisioning systems, providing day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and system troubleshooting. Attention to detail and a focus on preserving system uptime is required. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining compute, storage, and load balancing systems within Universal’s on-premises data centers. This includes building virtual servers using VMWare vSphere for application owners and solution architects with security, performance, and availability in mind. Additional responsibilities include deploying VIPs using F5 load balancers to provide highly available systems, responding to critical alerts, and periodic software upgrades to infrastructure systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Test and evaluate systems to eliminate obstacles and make improvements.
- Install, configure, and maintain Datacenter Services infrastructure, including but not limited to hardware, operating systems, management software, data protection, storage systems, etc.
- Lifecycle management of servers in a virtual environment.
- Respond to service interruptions as they occur.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24×7 support.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of technology projects.
- Develop automated approaches for common system administration tasks.
- Provisioning

- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of technology projects.
- Develop automated approaches for common system administration tasks.

- Identify capacity and performance issues to ensure uninterrupted service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong track record meeting targets and objectives.
- The ability to travel for training, conferences or supported business locations.
- The ability to handle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- VMware Virtualization Technologies
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Understand load balancing and DNS technologies
- In-Depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems
- The ability to interface and influence at a professional level with other members the organization
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Microsoft MCSA, VMware VCA, Red Hat RHCSA or other relevant certifications preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Managing blade server hardware platforms
- Strong understanding of DNS systems
- Backup technologies
- Managing domains with Microsoft Active Directory
- Managing servers in an enterprise environment
- 3-5 Years of Information Systems experience in the following areas
- Virtualization, compute, and storage technologies
