Northwest Regional Data Center (NWRDC)
The Windows team at NWRDC is responsible for maintenance of the Windows Server environment within the SSRC for our state of Florida government agency customers. This includes troubleshooting issues, building new servers, patching, physical and virtual resource upgrades, etc.

Responsibilities
This position manages and tunes in-house Windows software and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported applications.
Service Delivery
Provides quality and professional customer service. Administers hosted server software. Manages and maintains the virtual server (VMware) environment. Manages and maintains server operating systems, including troubleshooting and patch management. Monitors Service Desk ticketing system and responds appropriately based on published time expectations.
Systems Maintenance
Performs hardware and software upgrades to improve system reliability, functionality and manageability. Monitors server and application performance for reliability, security and quality assurance. Maintains hardware and software. Assigns server builds. Assists in providing reports relative to server builds and completed tickets.
Internal Processes & Support
Facilitates product purchases and maintenance renewal efforts. Develops documentation for support process, systems, and procedures. Participates in the change management process. Provides second-level technical support assistance to internal and external customers.
Research and Planning
Researches, analyzes, recommends, designs, tests, and implements new technologies and services to deliver cost effective and technically efficient solutions to internal and external customers. Evaluates product enhancements to ensure continuous product improvement.
Participates in approved professional development opportunities per NWRDC's policy. Professional development and training is defined as learning undertaken by the employee to maintain and advance their skills, knowledge and competencies, specifically as they relate and add value to the job and workplace.
NWRDC provides support for a wide range of state and local government, as well K- 20 organizations across the State of Florida. These organizations are dependent on NWRDC in order to accomplish their missions. This requires NWRDC to maintain services 24x7, even during times of crisis or emergency. As such, all NWRDC staff are considered essential staff for operations of the State of Florida.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and two years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to convey technical information to technical and nontechnical users.
Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Ability to document existing and new processes.
Ability to meet project deadlines.
Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Ability to utilize technical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support.
Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field.
Preferred Qualifications
Four or more years of professional experience maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (or newer) enterprise environment.
Four or more years of professional experience maintaining a Microsoft Windows Active Directory enterprise environment.
Four or more years of professional experience maintaining or operating within a VMware vCenter virtual infrastructure.
Two or more years of professional experience working with HCL BigFix (formerly IBM BigFix) or equivalent enterprise endpoint management solution.
