Job Description

The following is an overview of the role and what we are looking for in a successful candidate.


Position Overview & Purpose


The IT Technician will install, test, and service a variety of computer software, hardware, data network, and telecommunications devices, as well as other peripheral equipment related to information technology. They will also assess and resolve first and second tier requests related to the organization’s information technology assets including hardware and software.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Assists Systems Administrator and Lead Systems Administrator with configuring and installing hardware or software that supports critical business needs. Performs hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs to ensure all systems are up to date


Monitors and maintains desktop systems, printers, and other peripheral equipment


Provides first and second tier support and technical assistance utilizing a helpdesk to system users


Escalates more complex problems to intermediate and/or senior staff as required


Documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


Windows, Mac, and Microsoft 365 experience


Basic software/hardware troubleshooting experience


High sense of urgency and customer service skills


Ability to foster teamwork and build collaborative relationships


Detail oriented with solid organizational skills


Ability to work independently and manage key priorities


Strong oral and written communications skills


Required Qualifications & Compentencies


2-year degree from a technical college or 1-year hands-on experience specifically working with a helpdesk


Must work well in a team environment and follow directives from senior staff


Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity


Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications & Compentencies


Experience with scripting, coding, or other advanced computer skills are a plus


Certifications are a plus. (A+, Network+, Security+, etc.)
