Description

The System Administrator's role is to deploy and manage software systems and network connections in a hybrid cloud environment to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This individual must have the ability to balance project-based work with day-to-day operational support responsibilities to be successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Document all work and changes in the ITSM platform in accordance with operating and change management procedures.
• Utilize enterprise monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds and Intune to administer platforms.
• Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance against established KPI's.
• Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated run books for systems and platform administration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform and software issues in both cloud and on-premises environments.
• Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
• Manage end user accounts, identity, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations policies in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage communications (email, collaboration, voice, etc.) platforms across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.
• Administration of Windows and Linux based operating systems.
• Coordination with network, business application, and database administration functions to implement and support enterprise systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
• Perform system and platform implementations, upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations.
• Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers and servers while at rest and in transit in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• 3 years' experience working with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hypervisor and Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with ITIL foundation standards (Certification a plus)
• 2 years hands on experience with on-premise hardware (NetApp, Commvault and Cisco UCS currently deployed)
• 2+ years' extensive application support experience with Microsoft products (Exchange, M365, MS Teams, Intune, SCCM, SCOM, Microsoft Endpoint Management, Microsoft Endpoint Security, and Azure AD)
• 2 years' experience with Azure cloud-based compute, storage, and gateway platform administration.
• Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information for supported systems.
• Experience with Azure resource implementation and migrations into Azure from on-premises environments.
• Experience using scripting tools to automate processes.
• 3 years' experience at the Systems Administrator level supporting server, storage, and application platforms in a hybrid-cloud environment. Microsoft OS required. Linux highly preferred.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery platforms leveraging on-premises and cloud storage
• Experience administrating user access management through SSO and MFA in Azure AD
