JOB SUMMARY (How you’ll make an Impact)



As the System Administrator, you will work with Information Technology leadership to develop solutions for managing systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. Partner with end users embedded in the businesses to ensure that solutions meet business requirements while adhering to organizational values and standards.


This role is responsible for provisioning, installing, configuring, securing, patching, backing up, and maintaining operating systems on servers in the support of business processing requirements. The System Administrator will work with end users to develop and implement system improvements and provide support for more complex infrastructure-related lems.


The successful Systems Administrator will demonstrate the ability to develop processes, procedures, continuous improvement recommendations, and help lead resolution and troubleshooting of issues; provide excellent customer service in a timely manner, proactively identifying concerns before they become problems.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What to Expect in the Role)



1. Data Center / Hosting Management:

  • Build and maintain the servers required for development work, internal testing, customer testing and production environments.
  • Build and maintain material describing activity levels and possible next steps required for each server.
  • Provide technical and procedural direction to the company for the actual implementation of the servers used, as well as interface with internal users.
  • Support development, test and production servers including after-hours support and monitoring server utilization and availability.
  • Install, configure, and maintain development, test, and production servers.
  • Maintain and continuously improve all aspects of the Data Center/Hosting server environments.
  • Provide regular status reports and gather requirements from departments and provide input into the infrastructure products that are bought or built.

2. Server Maintenance:

  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of hardware upgrades, and new configurations.
  • Diagnose and provide solutions for more complex hardware and software issues.
  • Set up and maintain user access to standard processes
  • Collaborate with IT Operations to provide server configurations, hardware/software deployments, and other administrative tasks related to the staging and maintenance of company development, testing and production servers.

3. Continuous Improvement:

  • Document technical requirements, develop project plans and implement change control procedures.
  • Design, implement and maintain a consistent monitoring, patching, backup and disaster recovery plan.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities achievable within through the optimum use of the servers.

4. Customer Service:

  • Act as liaison for internal and external communications directly with departments as required.
  • Address help desk inquiries received via Service Desk tickets, phone, and email.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, and QUALIFICATIONS (What We Are Looking For)



Professional Experiences / Skills / Qualifications Include:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Windows Serverer 2012/2016/2019, web services, backup software, remote desktop software, and monitoring software in support of business processing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with analysis and solving problems of intermediate complexity.
  • 4+ years of computer experience required, including server setup, LAN, Routers, Switches, Backup / Recovery systems, VM, and other relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard departmental instructions on methods, techniques, or approaches.
  • Required:
    • Knowledge of Windows Serverer 2012/2016/2019, web services, backup software, remote desktop software, and monitoring software in support of business processing requirements.
    • 4+ years of computer experience required, including server setup, LAN, Routers, Switches, Backup / Recovery systems, VM, and other relevant experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with analysis and solving problems of intermediate complexity.
    • Demonstrated ability to follow standard departmental instructions on methods, techniques, or approaches.
    • High school diploma (or equivalent).

  • Occasional (<10%) travel as dictated by M&A Activity and Infrastructure related projects.
  • Experience with global organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office products and Scripting.
  • Experience in provisioning and managing cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
  • Ideal / Preferred:
    • Mastery of Microsoft Office products and Scripting.
    • Experience in provisioning and managing cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
    • Experience with global organizations.
    • Occasional (<10%) travel as dictated by M&A Activity and Infrastructure related projects.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field.
