These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services. Key Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of SQA methodologies and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • 3-5 years QA experience, writing automation, test frameworks, automated test infrastructure
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly evolving requirements
  • Experience in white box testing
  • Demonstrated ability to own the automation efforts and drive issues to resolution
  • Ability to identify and triage issues
  • Proficiency in object oriented languages like Python, Java, Swift, Javascript or Ruby
  • Proven knowledge of internet protocols, web proxies, caching and other web related fundamentals

Description

Work and contribute towards the engineering of Apple HomePod technologies in the Apple Media Products (AMP) group at Apple. We are looking for a test automation engineer with a passion for working on extraordinary Audio products and drive world class quality on this exciting new product and platform. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the test suites for testing various features of HomePod. You will take an active role in crafting the quality of our product. This will demand deep integration with our development engineers, functional and automation QA engineers, and other cross functional partners. You are encouraged to identify the gaps in the existing automation test cases and close them with long-term focus in mind. An ideal candidate for this team will be a self-motivated individual with strong programming fundamentals and prior experience in programming or automation. Attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced and growing environment are an essential skillset for this team and role. Ability to test/debug failures by testing manually is an essential skillset. You will be also responsible for the development of functional-based methodical testing strategies, creating & tracking high quality bug reports, and reporting on project progress & risk analysis.

Education & Experience

BS in computer science or equivalent experience.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $217,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
