Intrepid Studios’ Ashes of Creation team is looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Web Software Development Engineer in Test to join us, here in beautiful Southern California. This role will report to the Web-Platform team and support our microservices team by taking ownership and maintaining software automation frameworks. This will ensure that we continue to deliver to our community great experiences that only Intrepid can provide! This is a great opportunity to unleash your creativity and partner with talented game veterans to craft a unique MMORPG experience that helps bring people together.

What you will accomplish:

• Ensure that systems are performant, stable and robust
• Perform smoke tests & regression testing as part of the release cycle
• Facilitate the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
• Efficiently self-manage to balance working independently and with other developers.
• Engage with QA, Platform Engineers & Production
• Collaborate with platform designers and developers to ensure that features are correctly scoped & tested.
• Create and document complex systems in a clear manner for others to rely on as a reference to potentially expand upon.
• Strive to learn, teach and apply best practices in all aspects of work.
• Develop & maintain test automation frameworks and automated tests to support day to day operations of web platforms.

What you bring to the team:

• Ability to articulate (both in written and verbal methods) complex processes in a clear manner
• Experience using Postman
• Experience working with frameworks such as Mocha, Chai & nUnit
• Experience with React
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience working with principles of software development & test automation frameworks
• Experience working with REST
• Solid experience working with version control such as Git & Perforce
• Comprehensive understanding of Javascript and NodeJS
• Experience with collaboration software such as Jira, TestRail and Confluence
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Experience with Elastic Search/AWS, Prometheus, Grafana and metrics
• Experience creating maintainable and modular software automation frameworks using Selenium, WebDriverIO, Cypress or Pytest
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant experience

Extra Awesome:

• Familiarity with Ashes of Creation
• Experience with Golang
• Experience with containerization
• Experience with microservices architectures & Kubernetes
• Experience in AAA game development
• Fluent with modern, headless CMS systems
• Familiarity with testing windows applications
• Drive & creativity to improve test coverage and establish best practices throughout the studio
• A Passion for making and playing MMO games
• A portfolio that demonstrates a keen eye for detail and the ability to create maintainable, high-quality code
• Fluent in a modern NodeJS
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $125,000 - $187,500, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
