Job Description

Summary

Responsible for: Carrying out projects and programs required to the control and improvement of product quality. Working closely with the Manufacturing, Shipping, Receiving, Production teams and others. THIS POSITION IS NOT RELATED TO SOFTWARE QUALITY.


Position Duties

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:


· Generally works on assigned programs or projects requiring individual initiative extensive investigation and contacts with engineering and operating functions as well as subcontractors and customer representatives.

· Interprets commercial and government contact specifications; develops and implements procedures to meet quality assurance requirements; prepares inspection procedures, checks lists and instructions for inspectors and shop.

· Consults with engineering, manufacturing and others involved functions to ensure quality assurance specifications are met; reviews related problems with Director of Quality.

· Acts as liaison with certifying agencies and U.S. Government representatives with respect to quality control standards, specifications and related documentation.

· Reviews purchase requisitions for compliance to quality control specifications.

· Designs and coordinates the development of specialized inspection tooling; proven out and develop related inspection procedures.

· Investigates instances of non-conformance and rejected material; develops corrective action and obtain customer or agency approval.

· Assist in the development of inspection training programs and in the train inspection personnel.

· Assists in maintaining division quality control manual; ensure that it is current with contact specifications.

· Audit al departments for compliance with Division quality control manual; corrective action is taken where required.

· Keeps current on developments in the quality field; recommends changes in systems, procedures and methods where applicable.

· Must have good oral, written communications and have a high level of moral and ethical codes.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

BS degree in a related field and three or more years experience in industrial quality assurance work, or the equivalent.
