The Role


We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join the Immunomodulatory Drug Discovery group at Agenus. In this position, the selected candidate will work as part of an integrated research team to advance research stage programs into early clinical development. The candidate will also contribute towards the discovery of novel antibody-based therapies in the field of cancer immunotherapy. She/he will have opportunities to grow their career through acquisition of new skills, experiences, and professional relationships in a fast-paced and resource-rich environment.


In The Role You Will


The candidate will work closely with discovery scientists providing both scientific and technical expertise. The ideal candidate is expected to have experience in a range of cell biology techniques including: flow cytometry, cell culture and functional assay development. The candidate should be able to interpret results, troubleshoot technical hurdles and propose solutions to the team. The candidate will be also expected to contribute to the preparation of technical documents, project report summaries, laboratory protocols and other compliance documents.


Qualifications: About You


  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing and delivering oral presentations, posters, manuscripts, draft research reports and contributing to IND, BLA/NDA, and patent filings.
  • With significant independence, proactively evaluate new technologies and develop new assay for accelerating early-stage discovery activities.
  • Applicants should have at least a MS degree in immunology, oncology, biology or related field with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience developing immune cell assays, general molecular/biochemical assays. Experience with immunology-based assays and flow cytometry is preferred.
  • Precise record keeping and adherence to laboratory techniques is required.
  • Evidence of an understanding in the principles and techniques employed to characterize antibody-based cancer therapies is highly preferred.
