Job Description

Overview

The Payroll Program Manager 4 is responsible for timely and accurately paying our employees in accordance with all legal requirements and company policies.

What you will be doing

  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; provide feedback to leadership on abilities of team
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy
  • Maintain current knowledge of related laws and ensure compliance of all programs, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate processing of complex tax situations such as imputed income, expatriates, and stock options, with applicable internal business areas and outside partners.
  • Develop and document processes and procedures for payroll processing, payroll tax, and payroll compliance. Utilize knowledge of laws and regulations to ensure compliance with country and locality specific wage and hour laws.
  • Operate as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders; develop and maintain strategic working relationships
  • Proactively analyze payroll/benefits trends and metrics; present findings and make actionable recommendations in technologies, processes, and plan designs to human resources leadership
  • Facilitate and lead payroll processing for multiple countries and/or regions to ensure adds, changes, and separations are accurately reflected
  • Develop and administer proper checks and balances to ensure integrity of and accuracy of payroll data and compliance with all government requirements
  • Forecast market changes and proposed regulation changes to anticipate updates needed to processes, policies, and procedures
  • Provide problem resolution and follow-up to complex payroll inquiries by leaders, employees, terminated employees, and other human resources staff by using significant experience and best practice knowledge; assist other payroll personnel with complex issues
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors and service providers
  • Serve as subject matter expert for payroll; guide and provide resolution to other payroll personnel when issues arise with payroll processing
  • Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends

  • Demonstrated mastery of applying payroll tax and compliance fundamentals
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Expertise in using a variety of payroll, HR, and Financial systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Workday
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Advanced payroll certification preferred (CPP, GPM, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent ability to develop and use engaging, informative and compelling presentation methodologies
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus
  • Excellent collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas
  • Excellent facilitation and project management skill
  • Up to 5% travel time required
  • Based on individual states’ employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $100,000-$125,000 and eligible for bonus and benefits
