Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for all the payroll activities for the bi-weekly payroll (US and Canada) which encompasses multi-states. This position requires the ability to understand all aspects of payroll processing from new hire entry through payroll transmission. Needs to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. This role requires an elevated level of attention to detail, extreme accuracy, and analytical thinking.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform quarterly/annual audits for Workday and ADP to ensure payroll accuracy and proper state withholdings.
  • Process monthly sales commission payments.
  • Coordinate payroll account set up for new states, works with ADP on accurate state and federal reporting including agency notices.
  • Ensure all audits are complete for payroll including time keeping.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for payroll processing.
  • Primarily point of contact for external auditors and agencies
  • Analyze payroll process and identify improvements.
  • Oversee the accuracy of the bi-weekly payroll for 1,200+ employees and growing to 1,900 + in January due to a company migration.
  • Primary point of contact for the organization for payroll questions
  • Key business partner with HR

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
This position’s leadership responsibilities involve demonstrating ethics and integrity, developing adaptability, displaying drive and purpose, and exhibiting leadership stature to members to key stakeholders for the origination and presentation of credit requests.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with Workday payroll and ADP smart compliance
  • Minimum 7 years of payroll experience with high volume payrolls with (1,000+) employees, exempt and non-exempt.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with Intermediate to Advanced excel skills required
  • Minimum 1 year Supervisor experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified payroll professional accreditation through the American Payroll Association preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to operate call center tools.
