Job Description

What can you expect?

This US Specialties Senior Marketing Manager is a key leadership role within the US Marketing function, aligning our resources and accountability with the business strategy and structure of going to market.

The role is designed to act as a partner to the business leader, offering marketing and communications guidance and leadership. This role is responsible for identifying and conceptualizing on marketing and communication activations that drive our strategic growth opportunities. The senior marketing manager will also be expected to act as a leader and role model for all marketers in the US, including direct people management responsibilities.

You will be responsible for driving an integrated, campaign-based, cross-functional approach to marketing and communications, translating the company’s business objectives into genuine, inspiring, and impactful engagement with clients and colleagues.

Reporting directly to the US Head of Marketing and Communications, you will be expected to build strong consultative and advisor relationships across Marketing and assigned business leadership teams. This role is hands on as well as strategic, giving the opportunity to utilize your wide range of skills and develop further.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage a team of Marketing Managers.
  • Partner with colleagues in marketing to support wider marketing initiatives to advance/develop the global marketing function: teamwork, capabilities, technology, etc.
  • Manage budget, spend and track ROI to ensure we are effective.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team to understand our key strategies and business plans.
  • Meet all regulatory and compliance standards for notification and tracking.
  • Provide advice, counsel, and hands-on support to senior executives regarding effective marketing strategies.
  • Establish and maintain a sustainable master calendar of marketing activities, ensuring we have an impactful, sustainable flow of marketing activities driving towards results and outcomes that we track and report.
  • Develop and implement a proactive, integrated, compelling marketing and communications strategy that drives growth.
  • Ensure quality of our marketing to drive a consistent brand voice and standards within Marsh and Marsh McLennan.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration.
  • A Minimum of 10 years of relevant, complex marketing and communications experience (within insurance or financial services is highly desirable) including at least three years in a managerial/team leader role.

  • Hands-on experience with marketing and communications technologies, including marketing automation software, social media, intranets and content management systems.
  • Proven ability to build a team without reporting lines through coaching, credibility, leadership.
  • Experience of delivering impactful campaigns in rapidly changing, highly-regulated, technologically dynamic environments.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, and matrixed environment, working with a wide variety of stakeholders to develop and execute Marketing and Communications strategies, campaigns, and tactics.
  • Proven ability to serve as a trusted and influential advisor and counselor to Senior executives, and to cultivate meaningful relationships with senior leaders and individuals of influence.
  • History of coaching and leading Senior internal clients to improve the impact and effectiveness of their marketing and communication.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills on both technical and non-technical matters.
  • Ability to understand, tailor and communicate complex business, legal and technical issues for various audiences.
  • Strong knowledge and utilization of digital products such as Salesforce suite of products (Marketing Cloud), AEM and social media channels.
  • Understanding of marketing automation, data and analytics and customer journey-mapping.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $105,900 to $232,400.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
