This position will report to the Sr. Director, Revenue Accounting. This individual will play a key role in analyzing client revenue trends to determine appropriate accounting for revenue recognition. This role is highly analytical and requires developing and communicating insights based on client data trends. This position is responsible for continuous improvement with standard operating procedures including the implementation and maintenance of automated solutions to drive performance excellence. This position will have primary responsibility for establishing, enhancing, and monitoring internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards. The candidate should be a motivated, self-starter and display initiative in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Finance and Accounting department and will complete all assignments in a professional manner while adhering to critical deadlines.
Responsibilities:- Partner with IT to automate reporting, improve efficiencies and streamline client revenue and refund liability analyses.
- Participate in streamlining through process improvement related to revenue recognition processes.
- Communicate potential matters, unusual activity, risks, and opportunities related to client revenue to management on a timely basis.
- Provide positive support and interaction with co-workers, internal customers, and business partners.
- Interact with various levels of management on significant revenue accounting matters often requiring coordination between various departments.
- Support internal and external audit requirements related to revenue recognition.
- Manage month-end revenue close process, revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate revenue recognition and accurate results delivered in accordance with monthly deadlines.
- Analyze any fluctuations in client trends and investigate by partnering with FPA, Operations and Sales to assess impact.
- Complete other special analysis and project assignments as directed.
- Responsible for researching, evaluating, concluding, and documenting the accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 606 and the company’s revenue recognition policy.
- Analyze and assess trends in client refund liabilities for all service lines based on historical experience and current trends to develop an expectation of estimated refund liabilities.
- Superior spreadsheet skills and a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in public accounting and with a public company in accounting, auditing, or finance. Must be highly analytical, well-organized and possess strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in individual and team environment.
- Ability to be exacting, thorough and attentive to detail, while still meeting deadlines required.
- Ability to collaborate with peers and other financial management as well as external audit personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and define accounting problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational ability required to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong desire to learn; self-motivated; takes initiative and can work independently
Base compensation ranges from $142,500 to $174,500. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.”
This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
