Description:

Strategic Imperative:

The Manager, Accounting is responsible for overseeing a team of individuals, while also managing the accounting operations including the AP, AR, fixed assets, prepaids, monthly accruals, month-end closes, and will lead the preparation and review of weekly, monthly and quarterly accounting and financial reports for management. The role will work cross-functionally across various teams to provide analytic support.

Detailed Job Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives)

  • Reviews inventory valuation reports and adjustments and makes recommendations accordingly to the VP of Accounting and Finance
  • Assists upper management with the preparation of accurate, thorough, and quality financial and operating statements by working within established deadlines.
  • Prepares and maintains supporting documentation, detail general ledger, financial statements, balance sheet analysis, journal entries, and other supporting schedules and calculations.
  • Oversees the staff preparation and review of journal entries to the general ledger and other sub-systems.
  • Analyzes financials against budget and performs trend and flux analysis.
  • Reviews preliminary analysis prepared by Staff Accountants and works in conjunction with FP&A.
  • Assists with completing the month-end close process and various account reconciliations.
  • Analyzes actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget; research and explain any variances.
  • Prepares and reviews financial statements including the companies’ Balance sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows.
  • Support the new ERP implementation.
  • Manages and oversees the daily operations of the accounting department and select team members.

  • Culture Ambassador: proactively demonstrate and cultivate a culture of cooperative collaboration, strong work ethic, solutions-orientation, quality focus, results-orientation, relaxed/enjoyable atmosphere, team- and individual- celebration, and company/product pride
  • Employee Life Cycle Management: headcount forecasting, job descriptions, recruiting/hiring, termination
Requirements:

The MUST Haves: (ex: skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate results under strict deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Concise and effective communicator.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience as a manager of people in accounting.
  • Experience with major Payroll and ERP systems.
  • Highly analytical with working knowledge of general payroll protocols and accounting principles
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and large data sets.
  • Ten or more (10) + years of general accounting experience.

The Nice to Haves: (preferred additional skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Ability to listen, read, organize thoughts, analyze, and communicate (both in verbal and written form, in English, in a concise and professional manner).
  • Lift, carry, push up to 25 lbs.
  • Stand up to 5 hours per day
  • Ability to work M-F during the core hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Sit up to 5 hours per day

Pay Transparency

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, job function, and internal equity. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills and knowledge, experience, and relevant education or training. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
